Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) hosts a yearly “Distinguished Alumni Awards” for, well, distinguished alumni. These videos allow each alumni to tell their story and share how their time at IUP shaped them into who they are today, and they are a key element of the event and the resulting social media push
and new student recruitment.
Due to the breadth & diversity in where the nominees call home, as well as the in-person nature of the event, each of these pieces had to be shot, story edited, and deployed at the ceremony with the alumni in attendance while they were in town, leaving just a 48 hour window for the entire production.
The last interview was filmed less than 24 hours before it played back to a packed house.
Even with the considerable workload and tight deadlines, the caffeine budget was surprisingly modest.
